Our Values Toolingu.com is the leading online training provider focused on the unique needs of manufacturers. Our roots are in manufacturing, and our business started by recognizing the industry's specific needs. While some may report that "manufacturing is dead," or that "all the jobs are overseas," we recognize instead that manufacturing faces a challenge. Today's manufacturers are ready to compete, but to do so successfully, they need the right people, and they need the right knowledge. We believe that training is the key for future success. Manufacturers are the keepers of vital knowledge and technologies, but this knowledge will be lost through transition and a retiring workforce unless the knowledge is passed on. We've developed an extensive catalog of manufacturing-specific content and innovative learning tools to help manufacturers bolster their expertise and leverage their people to successfully compete in today's economy.
Our Products Toolingu.com trains manufacturers through a range of carefully integrated online learning tools. We offer hundreds of online training classes written for metal manufacturers, assemblers, and maintenance people. These classes are delivered through our custom learning management system (LMS), which provides extensive tracking and reporting capabilities. Our online assessments target the unique training needs of each person and ensure retention of knowledge. And, we offer customization tools, content-development services, and multi-language support to ensure that every person has access to relevant training that meets our customers' specific needs.
Our History Toolingu.com started as a division of Jergens, Inc., which is a privately held workholding and tooling component manufacturer founded in 1942 and located in Cleveland, Ohio. Toolingu.com launched its initial 30 classes and proprietary LMS in the fall of 2001, focusing on training topics such as metal cutting, CNC, shop math and print reading, and workholding components. In February 2002, Toolingu.com was formed as an LLC and brought on key investors within the industry. These investors included Glengary Ventures, a venture capital enterprise also based in Cleveland, OH; Gardner Publications, Inc., a Cincinnati-based publisher of industrial trade media; and The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), a leading professional society supporting manufacturing education and awareness of the latest industrial technology. Since 2002, each year has demonstrated Toolingu.com's evolution and increasing ability to provide manufacturers with training that helps them compete. For example, Toolingu.com:
Today, Toolingu.com continues to improve its training products and services by aggressively developing content in new areas, releasing improved and increasingly sophisticated versions of its LMS, and supporting increasingly customized training tailored to the unique needs of each customer. With thousands of students logging in each week, Toolingu.com continues to demonstrate that it is the leading provider of manufacturing-specific online training.
