Summary Statement of Responsibilities:

A Tooling University Business Development: Government and Education Group (GEG) member is responsible for generating new billings opportunities for Tooling University. In this role a GEG is expected to maintain a pipeline of qualified accounts within the assigned territory. It is the responsibility of the GEG to conduct Tooling University business within the assigned territory in such a manner that maximizes Tooling University's long-term sales and profit potential in that territory. As appropriate, the GEG's responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • The successful closing of new orders. An order is defined as a credit card, purchase order, or a signed contract, without any pending contingencies.
  • To represent Tooling University to its customers, partners and prospects in a professional manner.
  • To maintain complete records through Salesforce of all communication between Tooling University and customers, partners or prospects.
  • To optimize ongoing service levels amongst all Tooling University customers within the assigned territory.
  • To coordinate selling efforts with the channel.
  • To provide forecasts through Salesforce that reflects the status of accounts in the territory.
Major Functions:
  • Develops and Leads the success of their Customers and the growth of their territory, implementing focused strategies/plans to maintain current Customers and satisfaction.
  • Consistently analyzes/researches promising industries, trends and organizations, utilizes available tools, resources/knowledge, progressively growing their territory through a disciplined system of prospecting, cold calling, qualifying and Customer acquisition.
  • Collaborates with Sales Support, optimizing incoming lead management process and maximizing current Customer satisfaction and successful "win/win" relationships
  • Excels in developing and improving Customer relationships through networking, trade show/conference events, and social marketing/networking.
  • Solves Customer’s problems received through Customer’s calls, emails and feedback.
  • Documents and communicates activities, results and solutions utilizing the Salesforce.com.
  • Supports Marketing/Sales and Tooling U Department’s internal and Customer projects.
  • Leverages current prospect and Customer satisfaction and success to support collaboration with Marketing/Content and other Tooling U Teams initiatives/projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, skills and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; prefer sales, management or marketing focus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years inside/outside sales experience required.
  • Previous documented success and excellence in all phases of the sales process, especially in researching, prospecting, qualification, customer acquisition and territory management and development required.
  • Excellent listening, communication, presentation and persuasive skills required, training experience a plus.
  • Excellent Questions & Needs Analysis Skills and an ability to work with Customers, across departments and organizations in managing projects, resolving problems and accomplishing goals required.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute.
  • Excellent work ethic, passionate personal ownership in quality of work and career development.
  • Knowledge/experience in Manufacturing, E Learning, Training a plus.
  • Strong ability to research/navigate the Internet and CRM (preferably Salesforce.com).
  • Microsoft Office Intermediate+ skills required (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
