The Machinist Calculator (MC-20)
The easy-to-use MC-20 Machinist Calculator is a compact, hand-held device
programmed with built-in formulas making it easy and quick for machinists to
establish speeds, feeds, and time without the guesswork or clumsy conversion
charts.
Pressing any one of the five Function keys: Revolutions Per Minute (RPM),
Surface Feet Per Minute (SFM), Inches Per Minute (IPM), Feed Per Tooth (FPT),
or Cut Time (CT) activates a built-in prompter that takes the user through
a calculation step-by-step.
The Machinist Calculator comes with a User’s Guide, and other features include
a Conversion Center Function, a Stop-Watch/Timer Function, and a Standard Math
Calculator. The MC-20 Machinist Calculator is useful for Machinists,
Programmers, Inspectors, Estimators, Supervisors, and Students. A protective
cover is included.

New CNC Assessment at Tooling U
In addition to the Basic Machining Fundamentals Assessment, we recently added
an intermediate CNC Assessment.
The CNC Assessment consists of 55 questions with multiple choice answers and
should require about 30 minutes to complete.
Companies that purchase the online assessments for their employees receive
a CNC knowledge gap evaluation and recommendation of remediation in specific
Tooling U classes.
Tooling U Assessments are available for $24.95, and quantity discounts are
available.

Content Advisory Council Update
Every few months, we convene a meeting of the Tooling U Content Advisory
Council. The Council consists of people from Tooling U, a number of our most
active training administrators, instructors from our most active vocational
schools and community colleges, and a number of our trade association
partners.
Last week, the most recent meeting of the Content Advisory Council helped
confirm the direction that Tooling U is taking in future class development. We
also fielded a number of outstanding suggestions for upgrades to the reporting
tools that are available in the Tooling U Administration Center.
A number of Administration Center upgrades have already been added and more
will be completed around the first of the year. The upgrades include the
ability to set up a “transcript” of classes that students have
completed, as well as the ability to archive student records when they are no
longer active in a specific training program, etc. Stay tuned for
details.
