Upcoming Webinar: Realizing Training's Impact on Business
On Thursday, February 4th at 2 PM EST, TOOLINGU.COM is excited to present a webinar on measuring the impact that training
has on your business. Join Jim Kasperik, Director of Services for TOOLINGU.COM, and Bob Danna, EVP and COO for Bersin &
Associates, as they provide an in-depth analysis of training's "impact on business" and how this measurement can validate
your training efforts and help you build a compelling business case. Both presenters will draw from their extensive

TOOLINGU.COM — Scheduled Maintenance
TOOLINGU.COM has scheduled a one-time
maintenance event, which will take place on Feb. 5th, 2010 from 9 PM EST to Feb. 8th 8 AM EST. During this time, all access to
the Toolingu.com servers will be shut off, and visiting students and Administrators will see a popup message informing them of
this scheduled maintenance.
We apologize for the inconvenience. At the same time, we are very excited about the improvements that should result.
All TOOLINGU.COM servers are
being moved to a state-of-the-art facility, which boasts incredible security, reliability, and performance. Though the
web site will appear the same after this maintenance, these "behind the scenes" improvements are part of our effort to
bring you the absolute best training solution possible.
Thank you in advance for your understanding. Keep in mind that maintenance efforts such as this are unpredictable, and the
times mentioned above are approximations. If you have any questions, please contact us at 1-866-706-8665 or
at info@toolingu.com.
New Title Available: Machining Titanium Alloys
TOOLINGU.COM recently released a new class
in the metal cutting department: Machining Titanium Alloys 325. This class addresses the unique properties of titanium and the
impact that this material has on the cutting tool and cutting conditions. It's not impossible to machine these alloys cost-effectively;
it just requires a solid understanding of how to optimize the cutting process.
Customer Focus: Stryker Instruments
A number of TOOLINGU.COM's long-term customers continue to find innovative ways to train. Stryker is a $35.6 billion worldwide
orthopedic and medical technology company that improves patients' lives in over 120 countries. A division of the company, Stryker
Instruments, is a surgical equipment manufacturer that has maintained an in-house apprenticeship program that is registered with
the U.S. Department of Labor.
Stryker Instruments' apprenticeship program incorporates TOOLINGU.COM training to provide theory that helps their shop floor
personnel make informed decisions. According to Mike Brown, Sr. Manufacturing Specialist for Stryker Instruments, "We want them to
make thoughtful and logical conclusions about machining. Without that knowledge, they are just guessing. But if we can give them
that depth of knowledge…the result is better decisions." Brown further emphasizes that this training has helped bridge the gap
between design and production within the company.

Transforming to the High-Tech Classroom
The approaches that manufacturing technology schools are using in the classroom are changing rapidly. Online training,
blended-learning programs, and competency models are just some of the new instructional tools that educators are
applying to prepare students for a future workforce.
TOOLINGU.COM is planning a series of education-specific
"customer spotlight" webinars throughout February and March, where we will address how to effectively integrate online learning for technical
programs. Each webinar will focus on different educational markets such as community college business and industry programs, high school programs,
and certification-driven curricula. Stay tuned for specific dates and presentation schedules, and feel free to contact the
Government and Education Team with any questions.
