Tooling U Launches Version 6.0
In a continuing effort to provide our customers with the best online training for manufacturers,
Tooling U has launched the sixth version of its web site. This newest version adds a number of
features directly resulting from customer input. It also incorporates behind-the-scenes technology
resulting in a faster web site.
For administrators, the site integrates a new competency model, which maps online training
with recommended hands-on tasks according to various industry standard jobs. The new version
also offers new reports to track grades using the popular BlackBoard grading software. For a

Tooling U on the Road
Tooling U has attended a number of trade shows recently. For the Houstex show in Houston Texas,
which took place February 24-26, we spoke with people from hundreds of oil, gas, and aerospace
companies in the Texas region. Thank you to everyone who came out and spoke with us there.
We also met with many smaller, contract-based manufacturers at The New Face of Innovation Symposium
in Cleveland on March 17 and 18. We were part of a general discussion concerning how companies
can successfully expand into new areas such as energy, medical, and aerospace. Jack Schron, CEO of
Tooling U, gave a presentation titled "Creating a Training Program that Pays Measurable Results,"
which focused on the need for a blend of hands-on learning and online theory to create the flexible
employees these companies need.

Tooling U continues to attend and exhibit at trade shows all over the nation. In the next few months,

- WESTEC, the West Coast’s largest cutting-edge machine tool and manufacturing event, in Los Angeles California from March 30 to April 2, 2009. Visit us at booth 3657.
- The 2009 Industrial Suppliers Association Conference, which is a large gathering of industrial suppliers and distributors in San Antonio, Texas, from April 20 to April 22, 2009. Visit us at booth 4041.
- Industry Week’s Best Plants Symposium. This is an event honoring the top 10 plants in the United States, in Nashville, Tennessee, from April 27 to April 29. 2009.
- The Medical Device and Manufacturing East, the East Coast’s largest trade show for medical design and manufacturing, in New York, New York, from June 9 to 11, 2009. Visit us at booth 2664.

In Case You Missed It – Tooling U Offers Supervisor Training
In February 2009, Tooling U launched a new training department – Supervisor Essentials. This department focuses on management
