Pocket PC Enhances Administration of Tooling U for Corporate Subscribers

The Tooling University Learning Management System (LMS) now has the ability to download classes to a Pocket PC. For students and administrators of Tooling U corporate subscriptions, this means that students can truly work at their own pace when and where it’s convenient.

With a corporate subscription of 25 students or more, Tooling U will provide a Human Resources Manager or Training Manager with a Hewlett-Packard Pocket PC. The Pocket PC provides trainees without access to a computer at work or home the ability to take Tooling U’s e-learning courses with full text, audio and video.  

Here’s how it works:
  • Tooling U provides the HP Pocket PC as part of your corporate subscription.
  • Your company assigns a Tooling U course administrator.
  • The administrator assigns a course curriculum and Pocket PC schedule for each trainee.
  • The administrator uses a USB cradle to load Tooling U courses to the Pocket PC and to synchronize with the Tooling U online administration tools for each student.
  • Following the prescribed time schedule, the student takes their assigned classes, including Pre-Tests and Exams from the Pocket PC.
  • The student returns the Pocket PC to the administrator who synchs their work with the Tooling U administration tools.
