Manufacturing On The Rise 

The Wall Street Journal reports that manufacturing activity in the U.S. climbed for a second straight month in March, with the closely watched purchasing managers' index rising to 55.6.

The rise in activity was evident to us by the number of you who stopped by the Tooling University booth at the Westec Show in Los Angeles. We noticed a very high level of interest in the recent launch of our Shop Essentials department. Quite a few operations managers and shop owners mentioned that the Blueprint Reading and Basic Shop Math courses would be especially useful to training recent entry-level employees they've hired to meet increases in orders in their businesses.
