New Classes
Launched at Tooling U
Last month at the IMTS trade show in Chicago's McCormick Place, we officially
launched two new departments:
Our
Haas CNC Control Department
(12 classes), including Control Panel Overview, Entering Offsets, Locating
Program Zero, Program Execution, Program Storage, and First Part Runs for both
the Haas lathe and mill.
Our
Welding Department (15 classes), developed in partnership with The
Lincoln Electric Company.
We have also added two new free trial classes onto our site to provide a
preview of these new departments—
Haas Mill: Control Panel Overview and
Arc Welding Processes.
And just in time for the Fabtech Show in Cleveland, we launched four new
Stamping classes, developed in partnership with the Precision
Metalforming Association (PMA). These four new classes provide "how to"
instruction that builds on the seven classes currently available in our
Stamping Department:
You may conveniently register for a
free trial class from our Stamping department,
right from your PC.
New in the Tooling U BookStore
To complement the addition of the 15 new
Welding classes developed in partnership with The Lincoln Electric
Company, we have also added four books and booklets on
Welding in our
BookStore. The books are all published as a service to industry and
education by The James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation and include:
The Procedure Handbook of Arc Welding
Metals and How to Weld Them
GTAW: A Guidebook to Advance Arc Welding Knowledge Worldwide
MIG/MAG Welding Guide
We have also added
Machine Shop Trade Secrets: A Guide to Manufacturing Machine
Shop Practices to the BookStore. The book is directed toward
the conventional tool room machinist working in a small shop environment and
provides practical “how to” information that can be immediately put to use to
improve machining skills, craftsmanship, and productivity. This is the first
printing of this book, published by
ProShop Publishing.
Buy the Machinist Calculator (MC-20)
The easy-to-use
MC-20 Machinist Calculator is a compact, hand-held device programmed
with built-in formulas making it easy and quick for machinists to establish
speeds, feeds and time without the guesswork or clumsy conversion charts.
Pressing any one of the five Function keys: Revolutions Per Minute (RPM),
Surface Feet Per Minute (SFM), Inches Per Minute (IPM), Feed Per Tooth (FPT),
Cut Time (CT) activates a built-in prompter that takes the user through a
calculation step-by-step.
The
Machinist Calculator comes with a User’s Guide and other features
include a Conversion Center Function, a Stop-Watch/Timer Function and a
Standard Math Calculator. The MC-20
Machinist Calculator
is useful for Machinists, Programmers, Inspectors, Estimators, Supervisors, and
Students. A protective cover is included.
