Tooling University® Launches New Site,
New Classes, and New Functionality
It’s been a very busy summer at Tooling U. Whether you check us out online or
at booth D-3117 at IMTS, we know you will like what you see.
By now, you have surely noticed that we launched version 3.0 of our new site on
August 9th. And the changes were not just cosmetic. Based on input from
hundreds of our students and administrators, we have made countless
enhancements to the site.
To register for a free trial class on our new site for the first
time, click:

To view the enhancements to the Administration Center tools, including the
New-Look Individual Student Report, the New Goal Setting Wizard, and New Group
Reports and Exporting tools, you can take a tour here:

New Classes
Last month, we announced that we have added two new free trial classes to the
site: a welding class and a Haas CNC control class. This week, we officially
launched two new departments:
-
Haas CNC Control classes that include Control Panel Overview, Entering Offsets,
Locating Program Zero, Program Execution, Program Storage and First Part Runs
for both the lathe and mill.
-
Welding classes in partnership with The Lincoln Electric Company (15 classes
total).
New Functionality
We just added a new tool to the Administration Center to help training
administrators keep track of all offline training that they conduct, along
with a student’s online training program at Tooling U.
We call it the Career and Apprenticeship Learning Management System (CALMS for
short). CALMS allows administrators to keep all of their employee records in
one place. You simply select from a list of training programs or define the
training yourself and tell the system whether the training includes
certification, a license, an accumulation of hours, etc. This tool also
lets you define where credentials are kept on file and when they are due
for renewal.
Give it a try. We are sure that you will find that CALMS will make the task of
tracking disparate training programs much less cumbersome for you.
For more information, contact us at 866-706-8665 or see CALMS first-hand
yourself at IMTS booth # D-3117.
It’s Not Too Late to Think About Back-to-School Supplies
The Tooling U BookStore shelves are stocked with apprentice tool kits and other
precision measuring tools manufactured by The L.S. Starrett Company.

Buy the Machinist Calculator (MC-20)
The easy-to-use MC-20 Machinist Calculator is a compact, hand-held device
programmed with built-in formulas making it easy and quick for machinists to
establish speeds, feeds and time without the guesswork or clumsy conversion
charts.
Pressing any one of the five Function keys: Revolutions Per Minute (RPM),
Surface Feet Per Minute (SFM), Inches Per Minute (IPM), Feed Per Tooth (FPT),
Cut Time (CT) activates a built-in prompter that takes the user through a
calculation step-by-step.
The Machinist Calculator comes with a User’s Guide and other features include a
Conversion Center Function, a Stop-Watch/Timer Function and a Standard Math
Calculator. The MC-20 Machinist Calculator is useful for Machinists,
Programmers, Inspectors, Estimators, Supervisors and Students. A protective
cover is included.
