Tooling university Adds CNC Controls Courses to online industrial training curriculum
CLEVELAND, OH – June 3, 2004– Tooling University®, (Tooling U®), today announced that it has enlarged its online industrial training program to include classes on CNC controls. The new classes include control-specific training for Haas and other major equipment makers. Essential functions such as powering up and down, homing axes, manually jogging the machine, entering tool offsets, locating program zero, loading and deleting programs, interpreting G code programming, are included.
“We have included CNC training since Tooling University's inception four years ago,” said Greg Herlevi, Senior Instructional Designer, Tooling University. “What's new is our expansion into a deeper level of information on controls. The market has asked us to expand our course offerings to include more hands-on operator training and we've responded. Our online training provides the tools for manufacturing companies and schools to 1) assess student needs, 2) train, and 3) measure student improvement.”
Tooling University provides on-demand web-based training industrial manufacturing companies and educational institutions. Disciplines include courses in metal cutting, metal forming, materials, workholding, CNC and others. Courses are intended to provide “real-world, roll-up-your-sleeves” content as a superior alternative to traditional training techniques such as seminars, text-based or video-based approaches.
