Cleveland, OH –Tooling U, a leading provider of online training for the manufacturing industry, has released the sixth version of its web site. Since originally launching the site in 2001, Tooling U has periodically released updated versions, free of charge to subscribers. This latest version improves the appearance and design of the web site, while also adding various different features that assist training administrators with the use and reporting of the site.
Tooling U's latest revision is focused on making the site more effective as a training resource. According to Chad Schron, Vice President of Tooling U, "The newest version of the site is more than just a change in how things look and feel. Using the latest version of Microsoft's .net technology and new AJAX programming techniques, our site works even faster."
The new site integrates a competency model into the site's reporting features. This competency model contains typical industry job titles that tie together hands-on training with the appropriate online classes. Training administrators can also use templates, which save the settings for student accounts and can be reused for new students. Together, competencies and templates help training administrators organize their program and cut down on the time needed to administer their program via the web site.
Additionally, Tooling U has added several new reports that provide instructors with a detailed analysis of their students' progress toward training goals. Instructors can also export exam grades to BlackBoard, a popular grading program used in many schools.
Tooling U offers competency- based online training for machinists, maintenance professionals, welders, and assemblers, as well as custom-created training material for Fortune 500 manufacturers.
