NEW REPORT: Balancing Operations and Training

Small Steps Create Big Wins

Manufacturers need training to move their organizations forward, but many resist taking teams off machines because they don’t have enough people. However, it’s critical not to become paralyzed by this execution gap and do nothing. Implementing an overarching strategy is best—but don’t wait. There are a number of ways you can incrementally invest in your workforce and gain small wins to impact long-term success. Learn how in Tooling U-SME’s latest report, Balancing Operations and Training: Small Steps Create Big Wins.

Recent class releases include titles from all levels of ability and multiple subject areas, such as Introduction to Abrasives 101, Networking for PLCs 261, and Introduction to CMM Arms 362. View our class catalog to see all our current titles.

Educators & Industry Join to Graduate Pre-Apprenticeship Students

By establishing apprenticeship programs around industry-wide standards, U.S. employers who sponsor apprenticeship programs can more quickly build a pipeline of skilled workers, boost retention, reduce recruiting costs, and improve productivity. The industry has rallied around this strategy, and successful apprenticeship programs—from pre-apprenticeship to Registered Apprenticeship programs—involve industry, educators, Department of Labor, unions, workforce agencies, and community-based organizations. Read more about a recent success story involving an SME PRIME school and the AeroFlex Pre-Apprenticeship program (pictured above).
