California College MakerSpace Students Meet Community Need with 3D-Printed Face Shields

When California’s Santa Clarita Valley community rushed to find personal protective equipment in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, local nonprofit STEMbassadors – a regional program supported through College of the Canyons stepped forward to quickly help. Using the MakerSpace at the school's Valencia campus, middle and high school students manufactured more than 2,500 face shields for area hospitals, organizations, and colleges for nursing and welding students.
