Hot Press / Compression Mold Operator

Hot press compression mold operators fill heated metal molds with thermoset and thermoplastic composite material to create a large volume of flat or slightly curved parts used often in the automotive industry. Hot press compression mold operators then compress the material into the mold using some type of pressure until the material cures in the mold. They need to understand how layup equipment functions and the processes involved in composite material fabrication. Infusion operators also inspect completed parts to ensure they are within tolerance.
