Track 1: Mitigating Challenges and Risks in Deploying a Learning and Development Program

Many challenges can be identified during the design, development and deployment of a successful learning and development program. Gaining buy-in from decision-makers, balancing training time with production requirements, designating roles and responsibilities, and defining the business rules (grandfathering, remediation actions, etc.) are just a few risk factors to a successful program. We are looking for speakers who were able to identify and navigate the hurdles that can stop a program implementation mid-stream and move the program towards success.

Track 2: Consistent On-the-Job Training Drives Competitiveness

Strong on-the-job training (OJT) is an important driver of competitiveness for the manufacturing industry; however, many manufacturers rely on an inconsistent, tribal knowledge-driven approach to train their pipeline of unskilled workers. We’re looking for speakers who have captured organizational knowledge from experienced staff and developed programs that successfully shared that information with newer team members. Panelists will discuss how their programs brought consistency to learning standard work within the job environment.

Track 3: Full Lifecycle Success in Implementing a Tooling U-SME Program

Did you deploy a learning and development program using best practice elements, such as gaining leadership buy-in, establishing clear program objectives, creating a communication strategy, scheduling and implementing training program elements, collecting evaluations from students, or measuring the program’s effectiveness towards positive business impact? We are looking for speakers who have implemented a Tooling U-SME program and can share their roadmap for success and demonstrate their measurable return-on-investment. These programs can include just online or a fully blended learning program.
